I’m presently stress-testing my free cellular recreation (I exploit Unity) to see how far I can push it: big weapons and a variety of zombies on display directly. For efficiency, the zombies don’t use an Animator. As an alternative, they use mesh-based animation (one mesh per animation body), so it’s mainly a RAM/CPU tradeoff. It handles massive crowds surprisingly properly (~1500 zombies on display)
